You guide athletes during competitions and establish agreements regarding their preparation for the event, ensuring that the set goals for a competition are achieved. This could involve executing the start according to the rules, for example. Based on the competition's objectives, you discuss with the athletes how they should swim their races and establish mutual expectations. From these agreements, you provide feedback and guidance to the athletes. Additionally, you ensure that the athletes are not more nervous than necessary by reassuring them and instilling confidence. You intervene if anything goes wrong.

Interaction is sportsmanlike and respectful.
The athletes are ready for the competition.
The equipment is ready for the competition.

The athletes are prepared for the competition.
The equipment is prepared for the competition.

3. Providing instructions:
The instructions are appropriate for the nature and rules of the competition.
The instructions are adapted to the level and experience of the athletes.
The instructions contribute to the development of the athletes and to a positive course of the competition.

4. Evaluating skill tests and reflecting on own actions:
The evaluation of the competition focuses on what went well and what could be improved.
Self-reflection leads to insights into one's own skills and areas for improvement in guiding skill tests.
