Water polo is a team sport in which you can start competing from the age of 7. But before that, a child needs to acquire certain skills such as the polo front crawl, treading water, throwing and catching a ball, swimming with a ball, and defending. It's a sport that doesn't shy away from physical contact and where a player often needs to quickly switch from attacking to defending and vice versa. You have 30 seconds to keep possession of the ball and complete an attack with an attempt to score. To be able to do that, you need to play well together and put a teammate in a scoring position. This is not something you learn overnight. It requires training both as an individual and as a team. As a novice trainer, you will often work with children who still have a lot to learn. Therefore, in trainer 2, a lot of attention is paid to how to teach children the basics of water polo and how to teach them to play well together and be effective as a team.
